The Nissan Navara EnGuard concept truck is one of the coolest emergency vehicles the automotive industry has seen in years. The Japanese automaker unveiled the concept truck at the Hannover Motor Show in Germany. The concept itself is based on an already existing model, the Navara pickup, that’s sold in Europe.
The Navara EnGuard concept truck features a 2.3-liter twin-turbocharged diesel engine that pumps out 187 hp. Compared to the current Navara, the EnGuard concept offers more ground clearance and off-road capability that out-performs most other comparable models.
Boasting two portable battery packs that can be charged by the diesel engine, the EnGuard concept offers the ability for drivers to power equipment in hard-to-reach places, like caves.
Did we mention that there’s also a DJI Phantom 4 drone that can soar nearly 20,000 feet above the truck? The image is displayed on a 20.5-inch HD screen in the EnGuard concept.
The Nissan Navara currently holds the International Pickup Award and is sold globally, although it’s engineered differently from market to market. In the United States, we know it as the Nissan Frontier.
That leaves one question. Is the Nissan Navara EnGuard concept a preview of the Nissan Frontier?
Here at Cronic Nissan, we can’t wait to see what becomes of the Nissan Navara EnGuard concept!
