The saga continues as Nissan tells the fifth chapter in its Nissan Titan Truckumentary. This time around, we see Nissan engineers testing the new Titan in Alaska, Colorado and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Chapter Five, “Heart Of Cold,” is all about Nissan’s experiences in cold-weather durability testing.
While we are treated to images of snow dogs and the snow-covered Alaskan wilderness, one engineer says, in a dramatic understatement, “This weather is tough.” But that’s exactly why they are there. Speaking on the new Titans, he says, “If they can survive here, they can survive anywhere.”
One test in particular involved what are called “cold starts.” This test is about making sure that the truck starts up in extreme cold. Then it’s about measuring how long it takes the trucks to get warm. You can see the engineers instructing volunteers on how to rate their experience. Melaina Vasko, marketability engineer, liked very much how the Titan performed.
