Recent innovations in the auto industry pertaining to in-car technology have caused automakers to pursue different routes of how to increase connectivity in their vehicles. And Nissan is at the forefront of this experimentation. The automaker is hard at work brainstorming new kinds of technology to the point where we might be seeing something entirely new and quite unexpected in the industry — telepathic driving. The concept of telepathic driving technology would rely on your brainwaves to control and communicate with your vehicle.
This may sound like a science fiction film, but Nissan is currently committed to studying and testing new tech like this. As part of the Nissan Intelligent Mobility initiative, Nissan has consistently expanded autonomous technology including the safety systems that have become so common in modern vehicles.
Nissan’s telepathic driving technology would make use of so-called “Brain-to-Vehicle,” or B2V, systems, which would speed reaction times for drivers and lead to more adaptive cars. The technology, as demonstrated at the 2018 Consumer Electronics Show (CES), would allow vehicles to adjust to your level of comfort as well as predict your driving habits.
Telepathic driving technology is a first in the realm of in-vehicle automotive tech, according to Nissan. Although there’s no word yet on when B2V tech will be available in vehicles we can sell here at Cronic Nissan, we are excited about the future of Nissan vehicles.
