Nissan’s Energy Efficient Plant in Smyrna Honored by EPA

In a top-honor for Nissan, The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has named the automaker’s manufacturing plant in Smyrna, Tennessee one of 70 top-performing Energy Star-certified plants in 2014.

Nissan’s energy efficient plant is a leader among the industry when it comes to decreasing power consumption and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Its dedication is evident with the implementation of more efficient LED lighting, compressed air leak detection/elimination, and the utilization of its energy-efficient paint process.

“Not only do these priorities reduce Nissan’s environmental footprint, they also help us reduce our costs and provide better value to our customers,” said Randy Knight, Nissan’s vice president of Manufacturing at Smyrna.

Energy Star certified plants undergo annual inspections to ensure that they meet EPA qualifications and industry-specific standards. Combined, the 70 top-ranking Energy Star-certified plants were able to prevent 36 million metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent emissions.

“The Energy Star certification for Nissan’s Smyrna Vehicle Assembly Plant reflects our focus on sustainable business practices and being environmental stewards for our local communities,” said Knight.

We at Cronic Nissan are proud to be a part of a company that not only creates innovation that excites, but also strives to take care of our environment!

Nissan U.S. Sales Make Enormous Leaps

Nissan U.S. Sales

Nissan U.S. sales are picking up in 2015 with a hot month in January. Double digit growth for the make resulted in taking Honda’s top five spot as largest automaker in the country. Even with winter weather, dealers welcomed the most customers since 2001.

The Japanese automaker is looking for more and they aren’t alone. Other Asian-based brands posted gains as well. “The encouraging January results on top of positive economic news, including a seven-year high in consumer confidence, bodes well for the months ahead,” Toyota group Vice President Bill Fay said.

Nissan alone sold a little over 104,000 vehicles, up 15.1% from January 2014 and a record for the month. Aid came in the form of the Murano SUV which sales posted a 70% gain compared to last year. All brands combined, dealers sold over 1,150,000 vehicles in January. The 13.7% increase over last year continues an 11 month streak of gains. January 2015 saw the strongest sales in 14 years. Expect the competition to continue; 2015 is just getting started.

Nissan Certified Collision Repair Network Ensures Great Service

Nissan cares about the type of service its consumers receive. To make sure each individual Nissan owner is receiving the best collision repair possible, the Japanese carmaker is introducing the new Nissan Certified Collision Repair Network, a program that refers Nissan customers to Nissan Certified Repair Providers in their area.

To help enhance the referral process, Nissan is launching the first-ever On-Demand-Marketing tool, which allows certified shops to gain access to Nissan owners in their area. Through this tool, the shop can send marketing messages to the owners to help them recognize the Certified Repair Providers in their area.

“In some cases, Nissan customers have endured a collision repair experience—and the resulting repairs—that have been controlled by third parties who don’t necessarily have the customer’s best interests in mind,” said Mark Zoba, Collision Parts Manager for Nissan North America. “Nissan values our customers and is willing to do whatever we can to enhance our customer’s experience. With this program, Nissan is addressing this critical issue by assuring their vehicle drivers are able to select certified shops that are able to properly and safely repair Nissan and Infiniti vehicles.”

If you are looking for a Certified Repair Provider for your Nissan, Cronic Nissan is the right choice! Bring your car in today and we will be happy to repair it for you.

Nissan Sees Sales Gain for January

January is notorious for being the slowest sales month in the automotive industry. And this year, the extreme winter weather across the country took another bite from the already slow sales. However, despite these difficulties, Nissan still posted a sales gain for the month of January.

Nissan led the industry with an 11.8 percent gain in January sales—a sales record for the month. It had a total of 81,472 deliveries. These sales numbers are all compared to January 2013.

Leading Nissan’s sales was the popular zero-emissions LEAF, which had sales nearly double for the month. Another leader was the Nissan JUKE, which sports an edgy design. It set a January sales record with an increase of 45.8 percent. The Frontier pickup also was a major player with an 87.9 percent boost.

Another January sales record was set by the Rogue, which was up by 54.5 percent. And, the Nissan Altima midsize sedan saw a boost of 4.9 percent.

Imagine how well Nissan would have done if the weather hadn’t been so bad. Hopefully, we can get past this extreme winter weather soon and enjoy a wonderful spring.

Nissan will remember November 2013 with fondness and nostalgia as it was the greatest November in Nissan U.S. sales history. Nissan sold a total of 106,528 units in the month, a 10.7 percent increase from 2012. Both the Nissan Division and the Infiniti brand set November records in the overall record-breaking month as well. With two months still to go in the calendar year, Nissan has already sold more vehicles than the company moved all of last year.

Fred Diaz, Nissan U.S.A’s divisional vice president for Sales and Marketing and Service and Parts, celebrated the company’s excellent month. “Consumers strong demand for Nissan products continued last month, culminating in a very good Black Friday weekend and driving our sales performance to an all-time record November,” Diaz stated. “Nissan has achieved record sales in eight out of 11 months in 2013 and with more than 1 million units sold, we have already outsold of 2012.”

Sales of specific Nissan vehicles such as the Altima, LEAF, Sentra, and Frontier all made big contributions to the record-breaking month. Come in to Cronic Nissan today—we have all of those vehicles and more in our current inventory just waiting for you to test drive.
