With increased sales and several debuts hinting at the automaker’s productive future, Nissan started the year on a positive note. On a more personal note, so did Nissan Motor Corporation’s Chief Planning Officer and Executive Vice President, Andy Palmer. He was named to the Queen’s New Year Honors List.
Adding Companion to The Order of St. Michael and St. George (CMG) to his list of titles, Palmer was distinguished by the Queen for his role in making the United Kingdom an influential automotive manufacturing base.
Palmer is responsible for bringing many important projects to the U.K. and orchestrating several of Nissan’s long-term partnerships with organizations like Williams Advanced Engineering and Infiniti Red Bull Racing.
His new title is bestowed upon non-military individuals who perform “extraordinary or important” works in a foreign country.
Of the honor, Palmer said, “This award is a genuine surprise and I am humbled, honored and extremely delighted to receive it. I would like to thank all the people of Nissan that have helped me achieve this.”
Here at Cronic Nissan, we are proud to be on the same team as influential men and women like Palmer. And, hey, we wouldn’t mind a shout-out from the Queen either.
