Nissan has brought Star Wars to the 2017 Chicago Auto Show with a display celebrating the Nissan Rogue: Rogue One Star Wars Edition and the Rogue One: A Star Wars Story film released late last year.
The Nissan display at the Chicago Auto Show will feature the Rogue One Edition, as well as other Star Wars-inspired Rogues and even replicas of spaceships featured in the film as well as other interactive displays.
Nissan North America vice president of Marketing Communications and Media said that the Rogue One Edition has tripled online searches for the Rogue and made the Rogue Nissan’s best-selling vehicle. Nissan hopes to continue this trend with its Rogue-focused Star Wars display at the Chicago Auto Show.
The Stormtrooper-like Rogue One Edition was featured at CAS as well as one modeled after the X-wing, which will have movie-inspired thrusters, blasters, an astromech droid, and Rebel logo projectors in the side mirrors.
Nissan had a variety of interactive displays and activities for consumers to check out, including scale models of several Rogue One ships including the X-wing, the Y-wing, and the TIE Striker, as well as a Digital Mirror Experience where consumers can be turned into Stormtroopers or robots. There were also special appearances by live Stormtroopers on the weekends. Hanging above it all was an enormous 17-foot Death Star hanging over the Nissan display.
