The 2013 Tokyo Motor Show kicked off Friday—and Nissan is dominating the early news with the release of the stunning 2015 Nissan GT-R NISMO as well as the 2015 standard GT-R. The standard GT-R received a refresh just last year, and thus the changes for the 2015 model are rather small, but the NISMO simply screams onto the scene, easily making up for the standard model’s lack of excitement for the year.
Running under the tagline “Zero Competition,” there’s just no ignoring Nissan’s testosterone-fueled ultra sports car. The NISMO whizzed its way around Nurburgring in 7:08.679, prompting Nissan to actually bring the very car that circled the ‘Ring to Tokyo to show off. “Records fall and dreams come true with the debut of the GT-R NISMO,” as a Nissan press release stated.
The NISMO thrusts out 591 horsepower and 479 lb.-ft. of torque, which are both substantial upgrades from the already impressive base model—545 horsepower and 463 lb.-ft. of torque. Official pricing is not announced yet, but it’s expected that you’ll be able to buy this “ultimate iteration” of Nissan’s super sports car for under $200,000.
The NISMO is set to go on sale first in Japan in February 2014 before hitting US and European markets later in the year. For more information about the NISMO or any of the other breathtaking vehicles in the Nissan lineup, come see us at Cronic Nissan today!
